NatashaUdell is a graduate from the University of Windsor and was called to the bar in 2007 after having articled at a full-service litigation firm in Windsor, Ontario. Thereafter, Natasha worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney in Ottawa where she was a member of the Domestic Violence team and the Drug Treatment Court Program.
Natasha worked as in-house counsel for the Association of Professors of the University of Ottawa (APUO) from 2010-2023. The Association is the sole bargaining agent of approximately 1310 full-time professors, language teachers, counsellors, librarians and research fellows at the University of Ottawa. In addition to providing general legal support to the President of APUO, elected officers, Board of Directors and members via the Collective Agreement, Natasha was also responsiblefor collective bargaining and dealing with matters touching the Ontario Labour Relations Act, the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code, and the Ontario Freedom of Information Privacy and Protection Act. Natasha has also had the opportunity to file cases at the Ontario Labour Relations Board, Divisional Court, Ontario Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.
Natasha has achieved her Executive Certificate in Conflict Management, University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, offered by the Stitt Feld Handy Group and has also completed ADR training with Community Mediation Ottawa, c/o St. Paul University. Natasha is currently working on received an advanced certificate in workplace investigations via Rubin Thomlinson.
Natasha is a true believe in using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes and encourages all employers and employees to consider the benefits of using these varying processes in resolving disputes, addressing anti-harassment and anti-discrimination cases, and restoring workplaces. Natasha brings a trauma informed lens to her cases and does not believe that a "one size fits all" mediation settlement works for all individuals and workplaces.
