I’m a dispute resolution professional with a focus on family; my
skills and passion range from divorce to financial, and from coaching to arbitration.
I’m 1 of 15 in Canada with a Family Mediation Canada and International
Certified Elder Mediator designation. What does that mean? I have sensitivities
in working with families that are different. My approach focuses on clients and
their needs and not just the process; we can always get creative with that,
along with solutions!
I know that during family transitions there are
a great many issues to identify, plan for and possibly fight over within a
family. It may be a separation, parenting differences, a disagreement with siblings over the care of a parent or an
estate dispute.
It’s important to me that I provide an
environment for families to fairly, creatively and personally develop solutions
that best meet their family’s unique situation and requirements.
I am the past Chair of the Board of Directors for Family Dispute
Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO).
I am a roster mediator with Telus (previously Morneau Shepell), an
OMMP roster mediator, a part-time adjudicator with the Social Benefits Tribunal
and an active member of the Durham Elder Abuse Network. I also developed
and teach the Introduction to Elder Mediation course in the post-grad ADR
program at Humber Polytechnic.
I’m the proud recipient of the 2023
Ontario Association for Family Mediation President’s award for leadership in
the practice of family mediation. I was an active member on the CCAC roster of Independent Complaint Facilitators and a mediator with ADR Chambers performing FSCO mediations.
